Spotlight Sunday – John Wayne Gacy

OH MY GOSH John Wayne Gacy is definitely one of the most interesting serial killers out there. No we have not talked about him yet – we’re working towards it lol – but goodness he was a wild one!
So he definitely has to be spotlighted!

First up is a book called “John Wayne Gacy: Defending a Monster: The True Story of the Lawyer Who Defended One of the Most Evil Serial Killers in History” and I tell you what I am SUPER into this! I always think it’s interesting when you hear from the lawyers! They have such an interesting view and I just love it.

John Wayne Gacy: Defending a Monster: The True Story of the Lawyer Who Defended One of the Most Evil Serial Killers in History

Sam Amirante had just opened his first law practice when he got a phone call from his friend John Wayne Gacy, a well-known and well-liked community figure. Gacy was upset about what he called “police harassment” and asked Amirante for help. With the police following his every move in connection with the disappearance of a local teenager, Gacy eventually gave a drunken, dramatic, early morning confession—to his new lawyer. Gacy was eventually charged with murder and Amirante suddenly became the defense attorney for one of American’s most disturbing serial killers. It was his first case.

This new edition of John Wayne Gacy, which contains updated material about the case that has come to light since the book’s original publication, recounts the gruesome killings and the famous trial that shocked a nation.

Up next! A book called Killer Clown: The John Wayne Gacy Murders. Written by Terry Sullivan with Peter T. Maiken.

Killer Clown: The John Wayne Gacy Murders

He was a model citizen. A hospital volunteer. And one of the most sadistic serial killers of all time. But few people could see the cruel monster beneath the colorful clown makeup that John Gacy wore to entertain children in his Chicago suburb. Few could imagine what lay buried beneath his house of horrors–until a teenaged boy disappeared before Christmas in 1978, leading prosecutor Terry Sullivan on the greatest manhunt of his career.

Reconstructing the investigation–from records of violence in Gacy’s past, to the gruesome discovery of 29 corpses of abused boys in Gacy’s crawlspace and four others found in the nearby river–Sullivan’s shocking eyewitness account takes you where few true crime books ever go: inside the heart of a serial murder investigation and trial.

There is also a movie on Amazon Prime called “Dear Mr. Gacy” and it was CRAZY PANTS but I don’t think it will be on there after December 31! So you’ve got to watch it fast! It says it’s also on Tubi and YouTube but I am not sure since we watched it on Prime.
But if you find it – watch! It’s good!

If you know of any good Gacy things – they seemed REALLY hard to find – let me know!
I need more!
